The Agreement History page records every action taken on an agreement, giving you a complete audit trail of what happened and when. Each entry is logged automatically and shows who performed the action.
The table below describes every event type that can appear in the history.
Event | Description |
Agreement created from uploaded template | A new agreement was created using an uploaded template from your template library. |
Agreement details updated | The agreement's details or metadata - such as the title, parties, or cover page fields - were edited. |
Agreement uploaded manually | A document was manually uploaded to represent this agreement, rather than being created through the standard workflow. |
Agreement uploaded manually to complete | A signed copy of the agreement was manually uploaded to mark it as fully executed. |
Billing contact changed | The billing contact associated with the agreement was updated. |
Billing details email delivery failure | An email requesting billing details failed to deliver to the recipient. |
Billing information reminder | A reminder was sent to the recipient asking them to provide billing information. |
Billing information requested | A request for billing information was sent to the recipient. |
Completed | The agreement was marked as fully executed and complete. |
Created from request | The agreement was created using the Pages feature. |
Declined | The recipient declined to sign or rejected the agreement. |
Disabled automated billing info reminders | Automatic reminder emails for billing information were turned off for this agreement. |
Disabled automated reminders | Automatic reminder emails to sign or review the agreement were turned off. |
Downloaded PDF | A PDF copy of the agreement was downloaded by the recipient or when viewing a shareable link. |
Downloaded Word document (DOCX) | A Word document copy of the agreement was downloaded by the recipient or when viewing a shareable link. |
Draft created | The agreement was saved as a draft. |
Draft edited | The agreement was edited while in draft status. |
Email delivery failure | An outbound email related to this agreement failed to deliver. |
Enabled automated billing info reminders | Automatic reminder emails for billing information were turned on for this agreement. |
Enabled automated reminders | Automatic reminder emails to sign or review the agreement were turned on. |
Manual agreement created | An agreement was sent manually, meaning no email was sent to the recipient. |
Marked as sent | The agreement was manually marked as sent, without being delivered through the platform. |
New version added | A new version of the document was uploaded and added to the agreement's version history. |
New version added as new agreement | A new document version was uploaded and tracked as a separate agreement rather than a new version of the existing one. |
Payment link changed | The payment link associated with the agreement was updated. |
Payment link removed | The payment link was removed from the agreement. |
Payment link sent | A payment link was sent to the recipient. |
Proposed changes | The recipient returned a redlined version of the agreement proposing changes. |
Reassigned | The agreement was reassigned to a different owner. |
Reminder sent | An automated reminder was sent to the recipient to sign or review the agreement. |
Request expired | A contract request expired without being acted on. |
Request unexpired | A previously expired contract request was reactivated. |
Sent | The agreement was sent to the recipient. |
Sent for signature | The agreement was sent to the next person to sign for electronic signature. |
Sent reminder | A manual reminder was sent to the recipient. |
Signature cleared | A previously captured signature was removed from the agreement. |
Signature request canceled | The electronic signature request was canceled. |
Signature request sent | A request for electronic signature was sent to one or more recipients. |
Signed | The agreement was signed by either the recipient or the internal signer. |
Stripe billing details changed | The Stripe billing details linked to this agreement were updated. |
Stripe invoice generated | A Stripe invoice was automatically generated for this agreement. |
Stripe subscription generated | A Stripe subscription was automatically created for this agreement. |
Version removed | A version of the document was removed from the agreement's version history. |
Viewed | A recipient viewed the agreement. |
Voided | The agreement was voided and is no longer valid. |
