DPA (Cloud Service Agreement)

Common Paper Cloud Service Agreement term: DPA

Written by Mark Frantz

This article applies to all versions of the Cloud Service Agreement. Learn more about agreement versions here.

DPA is a variable that appears in the Cloud Service Agreement Cover Page, in the Key Terms section. This section is for your agreements' key legal terms.

DPA is an optional variable.

How to fill this out

Do you receive personal data about EU residents from your customers? If so, you may need a Data Processing Agreement for GDPR compliance. If you host one online, you can describe where to find it here.

Or, you can use a different method:

  • Use a Common Paper standard DPA. Send a Common Paper standard DPA as its own agreement, and use the Underlying Agreement field on the DPA Cover Page to connect it to this CSA. See Underlying Agreement.

  • Upload your own DPA. If you have a DPA that isn't a Common Paper DPA, upload it as a PDF here.

NOTE: This field doesn't link to a Common Paper DPA template, so you can't select your DPA template here by name. Don't download your DPA template as a PDF and upload it here either. A PDF downloaded from a template is a sample agreement, stamped "SAMPLE AGREEMENT", and isn't meant to be signed. Send the DPA as its own agreement instead, as described above.
