Agreement Types in Common Paper

Common Paper includes twelve agreement types as ready-to-use native templates. Each is available directly when you create a new agreement or set up a template.

Native agreement types

The following agreement types are built into Common Paper and ready to use:

Agreement type

What it's for

Amendment

Modifications to an existing signed agreement, used to change terms, extend a term, or formally terminate an arrangement.

Business Associate Agreement (BAA)

HIPAA business associate terms for software providers handling protected health information.

Cloud Service Agreement (CSA)

SaaS and software subscription agreements between a provider and a business customer. Includes optional order forms for renewals, upsells, and professional services add-ons.

Data Processing Agreement (DPA)

GDPR-compliant data processing terms, typically paired with a CSA or other underlying agreement.

Design Partner Agreement

Early-stage collaboration agreements for design partner and lighthouse customer relationships.

Letter of Intent (LOI)

Non-binding expressions of intent used to align on key deal terms before a formal agreement is signed.

Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (MNDA)

Mutual confidentiality agreements for sharing sensitive information before a business relationship begins.

Partnership Agreement

Sets up referrals, sponsorships, and co-marketing relationships.

Pilot Agreement

Time-limited trial arrangements with flexible fee structures and opt-out terms.

Professional Services Agreement (PSA)

Engagements where services are the primary deliverable, with support for Statements of Work (SOWs) and milestone-based billing.

Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Uptime commitments and support terms, designed to accompany a CSA.

Software License Agreement

Licenses on-premises or self-hosted software.

Privacy Policy

Common Paper does not have a standard Privacy Policy. For most teams, an online privacy policy generator is the fastest path - tools like iubenda or Termly can generate a compliant policy in minutes based on your data practices.

Need something else?

If you're working with an agreement type not listed above, you can upload your own document and collect signatures or as an Uploaded Template. Uploaded Templates support signature collection and can be reused across agreements, though they don't include Common Paper's cover page variables or negotiation features.
