This new integration brings your Common Paper agreement status and information right into HubSpot alongside your Contacts, Companies and Deals. Track the progress of your in-flight agreements, get quick access to signed PDFs, and even re-send nudges all without leaving your CRM.

Note: The HubSpot integration is only available on our Growth and Enterprise plans. Check out our pricing plans for more information.

Connecting your HubSpot Account

In order to connect your HubSpot instance to Common Paper, navigate to the Integrations section on the left navigation. Click the Connect HubSpot button.

This will bring up an authorization window from HubSpot that grants access to your account. We need permissions to read your Contacts, Companies and Deals in order to display relevant agreement information on each of those objects.

Once you've granted us permission, the integration is setup! You'll be returned to Common Paper and the integration page will show that the app and HubSpot are connected.

Viewing Common Paper Agreements in HubSpot

Once the integration has been completed, you'll begin to see Common Paper agreement information in your HubSpot account.

In a few spots in your account, a new section will appear in the pane on the right, likely at the very bottom of the list. Any agreements matching the criteria will be listed, each with a card including key information about the agreement.

This table shows the 3 different places Common Paper agreement information will show, and the criteria for displaying agreements. NOTE: Regardless of all other criteria, voided agreements are NOT shown.

Object

Criteria for Display Agreements

Contacts

Any agreements where the contact email is either a recipient or included as a CC,

Companies

Any agreements where any associated contacts are a recipient or included as a CC

Deals

Any agreements where any associated contacts or associated companies (and their associated contacts) are a recipient or included as a CC

Here's an example:

Clicking View More will display more details about the agreement.

Depending on the status of the agreement, you may see different data. For instance, expired agreements will show the expiration date, and signed agreements will include the date of signature.

Also note that HubSpot does not automatically refresh the agreements when things happen in Common Paper. If a new agreement isn't showing, try refreshing HubSpot to see if that makes it appear.

Linking to Common Paper

In addition to the metadata about the agreement, each card will include links directly to the agreement and to the agreement history page in Common Paper. Only users with active Common Paper accounts will be able to view these pages in Common Paper. Others will be asked to log in.

Actions

For agreements that are still in-flight, there are a few actions that you can perform directly on the agreement without needing to go to Common Paper directly.

  • Resend Last Email - this will re-send the latest email that a customer received from Common Paper. It's often used just to remind customers to review or sign.

  • Void Agreement - this cancels the agreement request and notifies the customer

Both of these operations will ask you to confirm before performing the operations.

NOTE: Voided agreements are not shown, so by confirming a void of an agreement, that agreement will no longer appear in HubSpot.

Disconnecting your HubSpot Account

If you need to disconnect the integration, it can only be done from within HubSpot itself. We've provided a shortcut to the relevant page in your HubSpot account - just navigate to Integrations in Common Paper and then click the visit your account link.

Once at the Installed Apps page, find the Common Paper integration and choose Uninstall in the Actions dropdown. Follow the instructions and the integration will be removed. You can reconnect at any time using the process at the top of this article.

The present integration doesn't write any information to HubSpot (or Common Paper), so it's safe to connect and disconnect the integration without fear of losing any data.
