You can connect Common Paper to AI assistants beyond Claude and ChatGPT, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, Notion AI, Perplexity, Amazon Quick, Sana, Grok, and Viktor. Each one connects to the Common Paper MCP server by URL and signs you in with your Common Paper account.
For Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, and Cursor, see Common Paper and LLMs.
Before you start
You need:
A Common Paper account
An AI assistant that lets you add a custom remote MCP server and supports OAuth sign-in
Permission to add connectors in that assistant. In many business tools, only an admin can do this.
Every assistant uses the same server URL: https://api.commonpaper.com/mcp
How sign-in works
When you add the server, your assistant registers itself with Common Paper automatically, then opens a Common Paper sign-in window. Once you sign in and approve access, the assistant acts on your behalf with your own Common Paper permissions.
If your assistant asks for authentication, choose OAuth.
If it shows Client ID and Client Secret fields, leave them blank. Your assistant fills these in when it registers.
API keys and bearer tokens don't work with the MCP server. If an assistant only offers API key or token fields, it can't connect to Common Paper. Your Common Paper API key works with the REST API, not with MCP connections.
Setup by assistant
Menus and plan requirements in these tools change often. If a step doesn't match what you see, check the assistant's own help docs for adding a custom MCP server.
Microsoft Copilot Studio
Open your agent and go to the Tools page.
Click Add a tool > New tool > Model Context Protocol.
Enter a Server name of Common Paper, a Server description such as "Create, send, and track agreements in Common Paper", and the Server URL.
Under authentication, choose OAuth 2.0 > Dynamic discovery, then click Create.
In the Add tool dialog, choose Create a new connection, sign in to Common Paper, and click Add to agent.
Notion AI
MCP connections are available on Notion Business and Enterprise plans. A workspace admin first needs to turn on Enable custom MCP servers in Notion's settings.
Open your Custom Agent and go to Settings > Tools & Access.
Click Add connection > Custom MCP server.
Enter the server URL and click Connect.
Choose OAuth and sign in to Common Paper.
Perplexity
Go to Account settings > Connectors.
Click + Custom connector and choose Remote.
Enter Common Paper as the name and the server URL.
Set Authentication to OAuth and leave Client ID and Client Secret blank.
Save the connector and sign in to Common Paper.
On Perplexity Enterprise, an admin needs to allow members to add custom connectors.
Amazon Quick
In the Amazon Quick console, choose Connectors > Create for your team > Model Context Protocol (MCP).
Enter a name and the server URL in MCP server endpoint, then choose Next.
Choose User authentication (OAuth), then Create and continue.
Sign in to Common Paper, then share the integration with your team if needed.
Sana
A Sana workspace admin adds the server once for the workspace:
In workspace settings, open the integrations tab.
In the custom MCP section, click Add MCP integration.
Enter the server URL and choose OAuth, then click Add integration.
Choose which users or groups get access.
Each user then connects their own account from the integrations page by clicking the Common Paper integration and signing in.
Grok
Go to grok.com/connectors and click New Connector > Custom.
Enter the server URL and sign in to Common Paper.
On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin adds the connector first in the xAI console under Grok Business > Connectors. Team members then connect their own accounts.
Viktor
On the Integrations page, select Add Custom > MCP Server and select Next.
Enter the server URL and select Connect.
Sign in to Common Paper when prompted, then give the connection a nickname.
Gemini Enterprise
Gemini Enterprise's custom MCP setup requires a pre-registered Client ID and Client Secret, so it can't register itself automatically. To connect Gemini Enterprise, contact our support team and we'll set up credentials for your organization.
Other assistants
For any other assistant that supports custom remote MCP servers:
Find the option to add a custom, remote, or "bring your own" MCP server or connector.
Enter https://api.commonpaper.com/mcp as the server URL.
Choose OAuth for authentication, and leave any Client ID and Client Secret fields blank.
Sign in to Common Paper when the sign-in window opens.
Troubleshooting
The assistant says it isn't authorized, or sign-in fails before you reach the Common Paper login page. Some assistants identify themselves in a way that needs to be enabled on our end first. Contact our support team with the name of the assistant and a screenshot of the error.
The assistant only accepts an API key or token. It can't connect to the Common Paper MCP server.
Tools don't appear after connecting. Some assistants need you to turn on or sync the new tools. Check the connector's settings in your assistant.
