Currently, the Common Paper app supports using our AI addendum by attaching a completed version of the addendum to a Cloud Service Agreement or a Software License Agreement.

For more information on the AI addendum and when to use it, visit our standards page.

Here are the steps to use this new standard:

Download and Complete

First, download the AI addendum (DOCX) for in-app usage. This Word doc is setup specifically for use for this process. Follow the instructions in the file (the gray highlighted sections) to make your selections. When finished, remove the gray instruction sections.

Save the agreement to your computer.

Attach to your agreement

Create a new CSA or Software License Agreement (or edit an existing draft). Under the Key Terms section, find the AI Addendum term.

Check the box for Include AI addendum. This will automatically include language in your cover page that will override the existing section of the standard terms regarding machine learning and instead replace it with the AI addendum.

Under Add attachment, if you've previously uploaded the AI addendum select it from the dropdown, or click Upload new attachment and upload the addendum.

Finish the rest of your agreement and send as normal.

NOTE: The AI Addendum term is only available for the Software License Agreement and CSA v2 or higher.

What your customer will see

Here's what the AI Addendum section looks like on your cover page.

The addendum will be included along with the rest of the agreement when viewed as a PDF or downloaded as a Word document.
