NOTE: This feature is currently in beta.

Negotiation of Common Paper agreements often happens outside of the platform and in Microsoft Word instead. This new feature of Common Paper allows you to bring those in progress documents into the platform and receive some analysis on the changes that your recipient is proposing.

Generating a Negotiation Hub Report

Currently, Negotiation Hub reports are limited to agreements that originated in the Common Paper platform, meaning ones that were drafted, created and sent using the system.

Once that base agreement is in place, you'll have the ability to import redlined DOCX files to that agreement and create your first Negotiation Hub reports.

Once you've received a redlined version of your Common Paper agreement, use either the email ingestion feature or the direct upload feature to bring the agreement into Common Paper.

When previewing the document, choose Still in-progress.

And on the following screen, choose the agreement that the document belongs to. It'll be pre-selected if you choose to import the file from the agreement history page of the original agreement.

Then check off that you would like a Negotiation Hub report.

Negotiation Hub Report Features

Next the Negotiation Hub report will appear. There are currently two versions of the report that you might see.

First Version

The first version uploaded will have a report that includes:

  1. A comparison of the Cover Page terms of the uploaded file with the cover page terms that were set in the original agreement sent from Common Paper

  2. A comparison of the Standard Terms of the uploaded file with the matching Common Paper Standard Terms use in the original agreement

Subsequent Versions

Any additional documents uploaded after the first will contain the same comparisons, however instead of against the original agreement / standards, it's just comparing the new file against the preceding version.

NOTE: There are certain scenarios where Negotiation Hub reports are unavailable. Learn more here.

The Report

The Negotiation Hub report analyzes your document and compares it as noted above. The left side of the screen is a PDF version of the DOCX file, along with a toolbar to make it easy to search.

On the right side of the screen, each change from the original agreement or preceding document will be listed along with AI generated summary of the change and the implications of it.

For each change, there's also the option to ask the AI questions about each change. The AI is given the entire agreement and the specific change for context.

Viewing and Deleting Negotiation Hub Reports

Each Negotiation Hub report is saved and available at any time for review in the File History tab of each agreement.

To delete a Negotiation Hub report, simply Delete the file that it's associated with in the File History tab.
